Postural muscles are approximately 80% of our overall muscle and it is the condition of these muscles which dictates our alignment, body shape, muscle tone and well-being.

Postural muscles are meant to work all day, every day at a low level and slow pace - approx. 30% of their capacity. Their main role is to establish and maintain the integrity of the skeleton and results in perfect posture, alignment and body shape. Postural muscles eliminate misalignments, poor posture, poor body shape and decompress the skeleton - in particular unloading and decompressing the spine.

Poor posture and body shape are a direct result of muscle imbalance. Over emphasis and use of the large outer muscles and chronic underactivity of the postural muscles.
